Screw phpBB… I’m sticking with SMF 2
What was I thinking?!?!?! Now I remember why I was avoiding phpBB! I installed it last night and instantaneously started to have issues with it. It wouldn’t let me log into the admin control panel, ffs! I then looked into the mods available for phpBB, and they pale in comparison to the ones the SMF community has produced. That aside, phpBB is, and will always be, spambait.
To be perfectly honest, my initial decision to switch to phpBB was based mostly around the excellent WordPress integration mod that I was looking into yesterday… but quite honestly, my quick SMF hack seems to be working nicely for my needs. Once SMF2 gets out of Release Candidate status, I’m sure someone will hack together an excellent wordpress integration mod.

While phpBB is gpl, SMF has this weird other licence which might change to “commercial” sooner or later. On the other hand, anybody can use what he likes best.
